A New Dimension in Laser Beam Steering

2D Scan Head HS7

SCANLAB AG, one of the worldwide leading suppliers of galvanometer-based beam positioning systems, is offering a new 2D scan head with several unique features.

The HS7 is intended for ultra-fast beam deflection and supports beam diameters up to 7 mm. In combination with suitable lasers, this scan head sets new milestones by marking over 1000 characters per second . Among the domains for which the HS7 is especially well-suited are applications demanding very fast or on-the-fly marking - such as coding in the packaging industry or marking of semiconductor packages.

The HS7 is extremely compact and can be mounted in a variety of ways. The volume of the scan head is less than 1.3 litres and its weight is just 1.8 kg. The footprint is only 95 x 69 mm², which is less than a third of the footprint of a standard scan head. Thus, the HS7 can be easily integrated into production lines - even in confined or difficult-to-access locations that rule out use of a standard scan head.

Like other scanning solutions from SCANLAB, the HS7 is available with a wide range of mirrors and objectives. The electrical interface is compatible with SCANLAB's SCANgine, hurrySCAN and SCANjet scan head series. Therefore, the HS7 can be controlled in real time by SCANLAB's RTC 2 (ISA bus) or RTC 3 (PCI bus) PC interface boards.

The SCANLAB team will be pleased to discuss the capabilities of the new HS7 and your specific needs.
