Data Protection Declaration

1. General

SCANLAB GmbH values the importance of protecting personal data and complies with all German data protection and data security laws.

2. Collection, Use and Processing of Personal Data

Personal data are pieces of information referring directly or indirectly to a person, e.g. a name or postal address.

SCANLAB GmbH collects such data exclusively as permitted by law, or with your consent and when you voluntarily supply it to us.

The following cases may result in collection, use and processing of personal data:

a) Access Data / Server Log Files

SCANLAB GmbH collects data on each access of its website (server log files). The following data or data categories may be collected:

  • Name of accessed website
  • Date and time of access
  • Browser type and version
  • User's operating system
  • Referrer URL (prior visited page)
  • IP address

SCANLAB GmbH uses this data exclusively for statistics and technical optimization of its website.

b) Contacting

When users contact SCANLAB GmbH, their information is stored for processing inquiries and possible follow-up questions. The user provides this information voluntarily.

To continuously improve the user experience, SCANLAB GmbH uses the web analytics tool Piwik to learn more about how visitors use the site. For this, Piwik employs cookies that store anonymized device-specific data and user-behavior information.

At any time, users can withdraw consent to collect and evaluate their data by using the following opt-out form. Here, an opt-out cookie will be generated. If you delete your browser cookies, then a new opt-out cookie will be needed.

3. Security

SCANLAB GmbH implements all legally-mandated technical and organizational measures to protect personal data from loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorized access.

4. Data Retention Period

Personal data is stored only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes stated here, and as prescribed by law. After expiration of the purpose or retention periods, the data will be deleted or blocked as prescribed by law.

5. Revocation, Modification, Corrections and Updates

Users have the right to be informed free-of-charged about which of their personal information SCANLAB GmbH has stored. Moreover, users have the right to demand corrections to and deletion of their personal data. Data not deletable due to retention mandates will be blocked until the retention period expires. Users can direct their data protection inquiries as email to SCANLAB GmbH.
