The varioSCANde^®20i and varioSCANde^®40i dynamic focusing systems enable the laser focus to be moved with outstanding dynamics and exceptional precision along the optical axis.

By building upon the varioSCAN 20 and varioSCAN 40 and leveraging SCANLAB's iDRIVE^® technology, they provide high precision, speed, resolution and linearity, while substantially eliminating the effects of drift.

Compared to a standard varioSCAN, the varioSCANde^® offers double the maximum travel and much lower tracking error, resulting in a larger focus-shift range and better spot quality.

The varioSCANde^® is equipped with a fully digital encoder system. The servo electronics are based on the technology of SCANLAB's intelliSCAN^® scan heads. Users can thus exploit such intelliSCAN^® features as real-time querying of the current position, other parameters and status data – thereby creating new opportunities for process execution and monitoring.
